This quote highlighted the need to help small business owners hire their first SUCCESSFUL Salesperson, repeat the process, as needed, and keep them as long as possible.

We explained in Monday’s blog article  that we reviewed our content, client experiences and other research and concluded there is a 3 step process to hiring and keeping SUCCESSFUL salespeople for a small business owner.

The first step in that process is an important that many small business owners do not take seriously:

Step One: Make Your Business … Sales Team Ready

Too many small business owners fail their salespeople because their business was not ready to take on a SUCCESSFUL salesperson.

This leads to potentially successful salespeople flailing along and not producing the right results, ending in their departure.  At the same time, some potentially successful salespeople recognize the dysfunction and never come onboard or leave on their own accord to another business shortly after their arrival.
